Before getting to this site I prepared a document.

For atheros pcie ethernet controller client mac addr 00

On one of my computers I upgraded to Rev. 15 of Acronis True Image not long ago. Prior to this I was using Rev. 14.
After the upgrade I continue to use the same backup programs I had used under the previous revision. There was a green check mark for these previous setups.
Just the other day I did something that managed to turn my speakers off when watching a video. I looked for problems and could find none.
I make a daily backup so to resolve the issue I decided to restore from the backup made earlier in the day when things were working. I have done restore operations before using Rev. 14. I had made a bootable USB device from Rev. 15. However, when I was looking for the device from which my backups were located it did not find them. I store the backups on an external hard drive. I then decided to go ahead and boot and conduct the restore operation while the computer was operating. I had removed the thumb device when I did the restore.
During the restore a message came up. I have trouble remembering exactly what the message box said but it almost suggested the format for the tib file was incorrect. It seemed to suggest that I use the cancel button. I did and a black window with acronis at the top appeared and it went through a bunch of stuff. After that the restore process proceeded and it said it was time to reboot.
It should be mentioned here that I removed the bootable thumb device based on Rev. 15.
When I rebooted without the thumb device my screen was black with the following message:

INTEL. PXE-2.0 (Build 083)

It seems that it is looking for an internet connection. When I had done restores like this in the past I never recall anything like this. The remainder of the restore operations were from a normal boot. Remember that I did not have the thumb boot device in place.

Perhaps this is where I made a serious mistake. I have another computer with Rev. 14 installed. I made a bootable thumb drive from Rev. 14 using the same device that had Rev. 15.
Using the Rev. 14 thumb device I completed a restore. It did recognize the external drive that the backup files were located on. It seeming completed the restore. I rebooted and expected everything to be normal.
I am still getting the black screen message I detailed above. It seems to be looking for the Rev. 15 thumb device that no longer exists.
How do I recover from this?

Atheros Ethernet Controller Driver

I wanted to update what I reported earlier.
I started the machine with a DOS version of Sea Tools and it did not recognize any hard drive.
I then used the USB device and was successful in restoring the system. This time I restored all the partitions and not just the C drive. Whether that made the difference I don't know.
